As part of the secretariat of Girls Not Brides Uganda, UYAHF was privileged to be a part of a two day stakeholder meeting to forge a way forward for Girls Not Brides engagements at national and regional levels.

The objectives of this gathering were; to share outcomes of the recently completed evaluation of Girls Not Brides Uganda’s work, to identify and analyse change drivers and blockers at the country level, as well as identify risks and obstacles in order to inform our planning and finally to develop a comprehensive ‘accelerator project plan’ defining the goals and objectives Girls Not Brides aims to achieve over the coming three years, including key milestones and activities contributing to achieving these objectives.

A key outcome of the workshop was the draft five year accelerator action plan for Girls Not Brides Uganda with the aim of achieving significant change to improve girls’ lives over a five year period, as an end in itself, as well as providing learning for work in other countries. As a committed member of Girls Not Brides Uganda, we look forward to continuing to advocate for the protection of girls’ rights and the advancement of a policy environment where every girl gets to experience her childhood with dignity.
